Both sides India and Japan discuss a defense pact to push up military cooperation agreed to enhance cooperation in the co-production and co-development of military hardware, the Defense Ministry said.

The proposed deal was discussed at a meeting between Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and his Japanese counterpart General Nakatani on the sidelines of a regional security summit in Vientiane, the capital of Laos.

"Remembering the last UNICORN deal, both sides agreed for enhanced cooperation in co-production and co-development in the defense manufacturing sector," it said.
